This is known as lazy loading. As the name suggests lazy loading fetches data blocks from S3 only on-demand when a query is unable to locate the requested data blocks. WebJust got informed by AWS support that there is no way to restore a backup that you have taken from RDS (Aurora MySQL) to S3. It's a Parquet backup, which they say they can't restore. If that's the case, what is the point of backing up your RDS DB to S3? Also what can you do with a Parquet backup?
