It’s important to understand that 988 connects people to more than just a “suicide” line; 988 is a service for anyone who is suicidal or experiencing a mental health- and/or substance use-related crisis. Web16 jul. 2024 · On July 16, the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline became “988,” replacing the previous 1-800-273-8255 (TALK) number. However, the original 11-digit number will still work.
