OK, perhaps the focus should be on best grounding method for a Strat and other wiring practices that have made a pretty significant difference. WebSep 8, 2016 · Especially if you like to play higher gain with them. Copper tape works well but if the pickguard has aluminium I'll usually leave it. I have a stock Fender pickguard with only foil on the controls part, and an aftermarket Fender pickguard with aluminium foil on the whole pickguard (from the factory).
